About the Organization
Maryland Community Church serves communities in west-central Indiana, bringing people together through worship, ministry, and community engagement. Supporting those experiences requires technology that helps staff and volunteers communicate clearly, manage services, and create welcoming environments.
At its Brazil Campus, the church operates within a historic building dating back to 1913. While the building offers unique architectural character, adapting the space for modern worship production presents challenges that require careful planning and thoughtful integration.
With an established relationship spanning several years, Maryland Community Church turned to Force Tech to help bring modern production capabilities into the historic facility.

Project Overview & Goals
Force Tech partnered with Maryland Community Church to design and integrate a comprehensive audio, video, and lighting system throughout its Brazil Campus.
The project included upgrades to the main auditorium, atrium, children's ministry areas, youth spaces, and supporting rooms. The goal was to create a connected production environment that could support worship services, distribute content throughout the facility, and provide intuitive controls for church staff and volunteers.
Working within a building constructed more than a century ago added another layer of complexity. The team needed to navigate existing architectural features, structural limitations, and infrastructure requirements while ensuring the new technology complemented the space.
-
Improve audio coverage and intelligibility throughout the auditorium
-
Integrate modern projection and video production capabilities
-
Distribute audio and video signals across multiple campus spaces
-
Provide flexible theatrical and architectural lighting
-
Simplify system operation through centralized lighting controls
-
Accommodate modern equipment within the historic building's structural constraints
-
Establish reliable infrastructure to support evolving production needs
Project Goals Include:

Modern Audio in a Historic Auditorium
Installing a modern sound system in a building constructed in 1913 required more than selecting the right loudspeakers. Force Tech had to account for existing structural conditions, equipment placement, and the relationship between the audio and lighting systems.
The auditorium's main audio system incorporates NEXO loudspeakers, supported by independently flown subwoofers designed to provide low-frequency reinforcement without transferring unnecessary vibration to the overhead lighting and projection grid.
Separating the subwoofer rigging from the primary pipe grid was an important consideration. By isolating these components, the design helps reduce the potential for low-frequency vibrations to affect sensitive equipment mounted overhead.
The system also integrates the church's existing Yamaha CL5 mixing console and stage box with Dante audio networking and Shure PSM900 wireless in-ear monitoring.
Together, these systems provide the church's production team with flexible audio control and monitoring capabilities while supporting clear, consistent sound throughout the main worship space.
Connecting Production Across the Campus
The Brazil Campus project extended beyond the main auditorium. Force Tech developed a connected AV infrastructure designed to distribute content and support production workflows across multiple spaces throughout the facility.
A Blackmagic Design 20×20 Videohub routing system provides flexible video distribution, connecting equipment and displays in the auditorium, front-of-house production area, atrium, green room, and nursing mother's room.
The video system also incorporates Panasonic projection technology, confidence monitoring, and Blackmagic production equipment to support presentations, worship services, and video workflows.
On the audio side, Dante networking and managed network switches provide a digital infrastructure for routing signals between connected systems.
Bringing these technologies together allows the church to manage production from its primary worship space while extending audio and video content to other areas of the campus. The result is a more connected environment that supports both live services and day-to-day ministry activities.

Simplifying Lighting Through Centralized Control
Lighting plays an important role in shaping the atmosphere of a worship service, but managing multiple fixture types and control systems can quickly become complicated.
Force Tech integrated theatrical and architectural lighting throughout the auditorium, including front-lighting fixtures, moving effects, and house lighting controls.
At the center of the system is CueServer, which brings house lighting into a centralized control environment. Wall-mounted button stations provide convenient access to lighting functions, allowing staff and volunteers to manage the room without navigating multiple independent control systems.
The project also includes integration with motorized window shades, adding another layer of environmental control within the facility.
By combining theatrical lighting, house lighting, and automated controls, Force Tech helped create a more flexible worship environment that can transition between services, presentations, and other campus activities while keeping operation approachable for the people using it.
Results
Maryland Community Church's Brazil Campus now has an integrated AVL environment designed to support modern worship production within its historic facility.
The project brings together a NEXO audio system, Dante networking, Panasonic projection, Blackmagic video routing, theatrical lighting, and centralized house lighting control. These technologies provide a connected foundation for managing worship services and extending content throughout the campus.
Just as importantly, the installation addresses the challenges of integrating modern technology into a century-old building. From independent loudspeaker rigging to carefully planned cable pathways and equipment placement, the finished systems reflect a balance of technical capability, practical operation, and respect for the existing architecture.
The result is a flexible production environment designed to serve Maryland Community Church's staff, volunteers, and congregation for years to come.
